The Directorate of Education and Learning (DPP) of the Islamic University of Riau (UIR) held a coordination meeting for Compulsory Curriculum Courses (MKWK) and General Compulsory Courses (MKWU) to unite and strengthen the commitment to implementing MKWK and MKWU in the upcoming even semester of 2025/2026.

Pekanbaru, January 27, 2026 – In an effort to improve performance and strengthen synergy with the Faculties and Study Programs involved in the implementation of the MKWK and MKWU, the DPP held a Coordination Meeting to unite and strengthen the commitment to implementing the MKWK and MKWU in the even semester of 2025/2026. This meeting also aimed to evaluate the implementation of the MKWK and MKWU in the odd semester of 2025/2026.

The meeting was opened by Prof. Dr. Anas Puri, S.T., M.T. as Director of DPP. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Fathurrahman, S.P., M.Sc. as Vice Rector I for Academic, Research, and Innovation Affairs at UIR. In his remarks, Vice Rector I conveyed the importance of evaluating and ensuring the success, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the implementation of MKWK and MKWU going forward.

During the meeting, several faculties and study programs, each represented by the Vice Dean I and the Head of Study Program, conveyed requests to support the smooth implementation of MKWK and MKWU regarding KRS filling, class quotas, determining the schedule and plot of lecturers from each MKWK and MKWU. Some of the participating Faculties include the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Then, for Study Programs, among others, the Legal Studies Study Program, Informatics Engineering Study Program, Management Study Program, Indonesian Language Education Study Program, English Language Education Study Program, and Government Science Study Program.

The meeting was moderated by the Head of the Curriculum Development Division of the UIR DPP, Adi Suryadi, BSC., (Hons)., M.Sc., and also provided a summary at the end that in general the MKWK and MKWU had run smoothly in the odd semester of 2025/2026. Then, for implementation in the new semester, classes will be determined by the person in charge of each course. Study programs are also expected to condition the schedule and room where the MKWK and MKWU will be held.
